In my role as an Associate Lecturer at Sheffield Hallam's Faculty of Arts, Computing, Engineering and Sciences I am engaged with students at various levels of their academic development over the course of their BA (Honours) in Game Design. Developing modules that first introduce students to 3D modelling and development for games, but also mentoring them at the latter stages of their Degree helping them hone their developing skills to a professional industry ready level. My own experience in the games industry, and years of lecturing the subject matter at this level are invaluable to this task, bridging their academic and vocational needs. Continuing contact with the games industry also allow me to keep the subject matter taught relevant to the current, and next generational needs of the industry, to best furnish students with the skills they'll need to succeed.
